The appointee returns to Hiscox after leaving in 2019

Shali Vasudeva has returned to Hiscox as its new group chief operations and technology officer.

Vasudeva, who left the insurer in 2019 to join Axa, will help lead large-scale transformation projects and drive technological innovation in her new role.

She succeeds Stephane Flaquet, who is leaving the organisation after 14 years.

Vasudeva said: “I am delighted to be back at Hiscox.

“With its strong history of excellence, bold ambition and unwavering commitment to innovation, I am excited to be part of the team and to build on the strong foundations that Flaquet has laid for us.”

Other roles Flaquet has held at Hiscox include group chief information officer and UK chief executive.

Aki Hussain, Hiscox’s group chief executive, added: “Flaquet has been a strong contributor to Hiscox for many years and has held a number of important senior leadership roles across the group.

“We wish him all the best with his next steps.”

Vasudeva experience

Vasudeva joins Hiscox following five years as chief operating officer at Axa UK and Ireland.

When at Hiscox between 2018 and 2019, she served as the interim group change business director.

She will be based in London in her new role.

Hussain said: “Vasudeva is no stranger to Hiscox, having led the change initiative for UK and Europe in the run-up to Brexit rules being implemented.

“Her wealth of experience and strategic vision will be invaluable as our operational and technological evolution continues.”
