He currently serves as group chief transformation officer and interim chief executive for Hiscox UK.
In his new role he will report to Hiscox Group chief executive Aki Hussain and will be responsible for overseeing critical central functions including group claims, IT, property services, procurement and group marketing.
He will also become a member of the group executive committee.

Hussain said: “As Stéphane takes on this new role for the group, we will benefit enormously from his institutional knowledge, having run a number of Hiscox business areas.
“With a focus on driving process maturity, continued digital transformation and service excellence, Stéphane will play an important part in ensuring we continue to build a better business that delivers for our customers.”
Flaquet added: “This is a great role and represents a unique opportunity to drive impactful new initiatives and to really help shape the future of what I think is a fantastic business.
“I can’t wait to help us enhance our existing capabilities, build new ones and harness synergies across the group – contributions that I believe will enable us to realise the significant opportunities ahead.”
