’I look forward to joining at such an exciting time,’ says new appointee
Hiscox has appointed Chris Loake as the group’s new chief information officer, a statement released today (26 June 2023) said.
In his new role, Loake – who has over 20 years of technology experience – will be responsible for driving the insurer’s global technology strategy.
He will be based in London and report to Stéphane Flaquet, who is the group’s chief operations and technology officer.
“I look forward to joining at such an exciting time,” the new appointee said.
“Hiscox uses technology as a source of competitive advantage, to evolve and improve the customer experience.”
’Proven record’
Loake has held senior roles at a variety of firms, including head of global product development at Experian and chief information officer at Close Brothers Premium Finance.

He was most recently chief technology and operations officer at private banking company C. Hoare & Co, where he was responsible for implementing a number of changes in the bank’s digital infrastructure.
Loake will join Hiscox later in 2023.

“Chris will lead an already strong team of 350 IT professionals, delivering innovative solutions for our customers and ensuring we make the most of the opportunities ahead.”
