The executive roles being filled include the newly created position of global head of distribution
Global risk and reinsurance business Guy Carpenter, part of Marsh and McLennan, has appointed three new members to its executive committee, including a chief operating officer, chief information officer and a newly created role of global head of distribution.
Neil Mayer will assume the position of chief operating officer, overseeing the central operations of the firm as well as its client support services, marketing and communication and data strategy. He will also lead the business’s operating committee.
Mayer’s previous roles at the company include chief operating officer, North America and global head of strategy and transformation. He has also worked as a senior member of the Marsh and McLennan M&A and corporate development team.
The new global head of distribution role has been filled by Lara Mowery; in this position, she will oversee Guy Carpenter’s placement and distribution strategy, including broker interactions. Prior to this appointment, she worked as the head of the company’s Global Property Center of Excellence.
John Crichton, chief information officer, has also joined Guy Carpenter’s executive committee. He has responsibility for leading the firm’s global technology organisation and enhancing the business’s overall technology function.
Commenting on the new executive committee members, Guy Carpenter’s president and chief executive Peter Hearn said: “I am very pleased to welcome Neil, Lara and John to our executive committee as they bring proven expertise and leadership to our strong team of industry veterans.
“I am confident that the new members will play a key role as we look to expand our offerings, services and value to our clients.”
