’It’s great that they have chosen to become part of the GRP and Brown and Brown team,’ says head of M&A
Brown and Brown-owned Global Risk Partners (GRP) has acquired specialist commercial insurance broker Amicus Solutions, a statement released today (8 June 2023) has revealed.
Surrey-based Amicus was formed in 2010 and targets the construction, manufacturing, waste and recycling and haulage markets.
GRP said that purchasing the firm would see it become part of its retail division.
Stephen Ross, GRP’s head of M&A, added he was confident that Amicus “will see continued growth with our help and support”.
“It’s great that they have chosen to become part of the GRP and Brown and Brown team,” he added.
’Best custodian’
Amicus managing director Adam Scott, senior leaders Jamie Agutter and Andy Morrison and the rest of the team will remain with the business.

As part of the deal, the office location and brand will not change.
“We are keen to support the team as it continues to grow its footprint in its target markets, where it has earned a great reputation for providing high quality insurance and risk management services to its growing customer base,” Ross said.
Meanwhile, Scott said GRP was the “best custodian for our business, our excellent team and our customers”.
“Becoming part of Brown and Brown, the world’s sixth largest insurance brokerage, was a key consideration for us when we first sat down with Mike Bruce (GRP’s chief executive) and Stephen to discuss the future.
“The team and I are all very excited about the next chapter in our history, as we build upon our platform with both GRP and Brown and Brown’s support.”
