The latest acquisition marks GRP’s third of the month
GRP-owned Marshall Wooldridge has bought a commercial broker specialising in farm insurance.
The GRP hub broker announced the acquisition of Yorkshire-based Messrs R F Broadley today, saying it would help its “drive for growth”.
R F Broadley is owned and run by a husband and wife team David and Shirley Broadley, and was founded in 1928.
Marshall Wooldridge MD Geoff Kirk said R F Broadley ”is a well-respected, long-established local family firm with a strong client base and great expertise, particularly in agriculture”.
”David, Shirley and their team will all be remaining with the business, and we’re delighted to have them on board.”
Meanwhile David Broadley said the deal was ”exciting news for us and our team, and we’re all looking forward to the opportunities it’s going to create”.
”We have the benefit of more than 90 years of expertise as a family business and we’re delighted that Marshall Wooldridge has recognised the value that can bring.”
Marshall Wooldridge is a regional broker founded in 1973 specialising in commercial and sport insurance with offices in Leeds and Sheffield. it manages £26m in premiums and employs 55 staff.
Commenting on the acquisition, GRP chief exec Mike Bruce said: “This is Marshall Wooldridge’s second acquisition since they joined GRP and represents another success in terms of broadening their commercial scope and the breadth of expertise they can offer clients.”
This is the third GRP deal of the month after Midlands hub Birrell Group bought Home Counties Insurance Services and Managed Risk Solutions Ltd.
