Insurtech Sprout.ai has named former Zurich group chief claims officer Ian Thompson as the first member of its growth advisory board, effective immediately.
In this position, he will help to shape the direction of travel for the insurtech’s products and market strategy, as well as support its ambitions around innovation and bettering the customer experience.

Experience
Thompson has more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry, including 20 years in leadership roles.

In particular, he spent more than 11 years at insurer Zurich between November 2012 and June 2024, performing a series of senior claims roles such as group chief claims officer.
During his tenure, he championed the use of artificial intelligence (AI), digitalisation and data innovation in the insurer’s operations.
He also previously worked at RSA, taking on roles such as director of personal motor claims, head of operational motor claims and programme director of UK claims transformation.
