’I am delighted and honoured to have been selected as the next chair of Lloyd’s,’ says appointee
Lloyd’s of London has announced that Sir Charles Roxburgh will become its next chair.
Roxburgh will take up the position on 1 May 2025, succeeding Bruce Carnegie-Brown after an eight-year term.
Carnegie-Brown said it had been a “privilege” to serve the marketplace “and to play a part in driving forward many aspects of Lloyd’s progress”.
One initiative he recently oversaw was the revamp of the underwriting room, which was done during the summer of 2023.
Carnegie-Brown said: “Lloyd’s plays an important role in the global financial services sector and I am delighted to welcome Roxburgh, who brings great experience and expertise.
“[This] will help the market go from strength to strength, delivering its unique value proposition to the market’s participants, investors and customers into the future.”
Experience
Roxburgh brings experience gained in both the UK government and the private sector.
