Chief executive says the appointee’s ‘skills, industry knowledge and strategic vision align perfectly with our goals’
Faraday Underwriting Limited (FUL) has appointed Nick Frankland as its new non-executive director.
Frankland joins from Aon, where he most recently served as an ambassador after stepping down as chairman of the broker’s strategy and technology group in September 2023.
Prior to joining Aon in April 2017, Frankland served as chief executive of Guy Carpenter’s EMEA business.
He also ran the London market property and casualty (P&C) division of reinsurance broker RK Carvill.
FUL said Frankland’s “expertise and insights will be invaluable as Faraday continues its strategic growth journey” and looks to “transition” beyond its “position as a mid-size syndicate with consistent upper quartile profitability”.
“Franksland’s skills, industry knowledge and strategic vision align perfectly with our goals,” Faraday chief executive Tom Shelley said.
Succession
Frankland succeeds current non-executive chair Martin Pike, who has served in the role for six years and been part of FUL’s board for nine years.

Pike will retire in May this year.
FUL said Pike’s “leadership and guidance have been instrumental during this period and he will be greatly missed upon his retirement”.
“We are also thrilled to welcome Nick Frankland to the Faraday family,” Shelley said.
