The acquisiton is Bennett Christmas’ second since being taken over by Ethos Broking
Ethos broker Bennett Christmas has made its second acquisition, snapping up energy intermediary OMIS Insurance for an undisclosed sum, it announced today.
Warwickshire-based OMIS was set up in 1997 and manages £1.5m of gross written premium.
The deal is Bennett Christmas’ second since it became a regional hub broker for Bravo Group-owned Ethos last year.
OMIS offers advice and insurance cover to the offshore energy sector.
Bennett Christmas managing director Tom Stripp said adding the specialist energy sector to its portfolio was ”immensely exciting and provides us with a strong platform for driving future growth”.
”The new Offshore & Marine team will provide specialist cover for businesses, people and equipment in sectors including the offshore industries, marine and subsea equipment, renewable energy, specialist recruitment and energy contractors.”
Ethos Broking M&A director Vince Gardner said the purchase fits well with its model of ”providing quality insurance services to general but also niche markets.
”This was an opportunity for Bennett Christmas to expand their offering and I’m sure there will be more specialist acquisitions across Ethos Broking in the future.”
