Latest purchase brings total number of brokers bought by the East-Anglia-based broker to five
East-Anglia-based Broker Network member Saffron Insurance has snapped up Sharer Chapman.
The Harlow-based property owners insurance for landlords and housing associations broker has been going since 1983 and becomes Saffron’s third purchase of the year and it’s fifth since being acquired by Ethos in 2018.
Sharer Chapman is run by Ian Sharer, David Chapman and Paul Langford. They will remain with the company along with six other members of staff in their existing office.
Commenting, saffron’s managing director Steve seekings said the broker had ”gone through a radical phase of growth over the last 12 months but purchasing the right brokerage, that aligns with our culture and complements our offering is imperative to us.
He added that ”2019 is set to be our most productive year yet and with the support from Ethos Broking, we have a compelling proposition which is generating interest across the East of England.
“The team at Sharer Chapman is a well-respected broking firm that has flourished over the years under the leadership of Ian, David and Paul. I’m excited to begin working with the team to expand the client-base further.”
Saffron’s other buys are Continuum, Grove Insurance, Farmer Insurance and Bridge Insurance, which was acquired in July for an undisclosed sum.
Saffron itself was bought by Ethos for £10.1m in January 2018.
