’We’re not only raising the bar for vehicle safety, but also ensuring we’re prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly complex automotive landscape,’ says claims director
Direct Line Group (DLG) has launched a new vehicle damage assessor (VDA) accreditation programme.
The new programme is designed to ensure DLG’s VDA’s are equipped with specialised skills to diagnose and repair modern vehicles across the insurer’s 23 motor accident repair centres in the UK.
Participants receive specialised training, with areas of focus including advanced materials used in vehicle construction, electric vehicle systems and safety features such as advanced driver assistance systems.
DLG has also invested in dedicated training vehicles, allowing assessors to practice on real-world scenarios.
’Significant milestone’
DLG said the programme, which has been recognised by the Institute of the Motor Industry, comes because of vehicles becoming more advanced.
