’Adam’s going to be meeting as many colleagues as possible to listen to their views,’ says insurer
Direct Line Group (DLG) has revealed that Adam Winslow will be gathering views on how the insurer can improve during his first few weeks as chief executive.
The former Aviva UKGI top boss took up his new role today (1 March 2024) and will spend his first day in DLG’s Leeds office listening to employees’ suggestions.
He will also travel to other sites over the next few weeks to pick up as much feedback as possible to help bolster the insurer’s services.
In a LinkedIn post, DLG said it was “great to have someone with Adam’s experience, expertise and energy at the helm”.
“It’s an exciting day at DLG as Adam Winslow joins as our new chief executive,” it added.
“Adam’s going to be meeting as many colleagues as possible to listen to their views on how we can improve the business and deliver for our customers.
“He’s spending his first day in our Leeds office and will be visiting other sites and repair centres over the next few weeks.
“The whole team is looking forward to giving him a warm welcome.”

As he begins his role, Jon Greenwood, who had been acting chief executive, will work with him to help ensure a smooth handover and transition.
“DLG is one of the UK’s leading insurers with some of the most recognisable brands in the retail and commercial market,” Winslow said.
“It’s a privilege to be invited to lead DLG into the future, particularly given its rich heritage and passion for serving its millions of customers.”
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
