Their input ’will be invaluable as we continue our business transformation and supporting our people through a period of change’, says chief executive

Direct Line Group (DLG) has announced new appointments to its executive committee after Aviva agreed to purchase the insurer.

The insurer said Maz Bown, who was appointed chief risk officer in December 2024, will join the board, as well as Angela Yotov and Jane Storm.

Yotov and Storm, who have been appointed group general counsel and chief people officer respectively, are set to join the insurer in February 2025.

The moves come after Aviva agreed to purchase DLG in a £3.7bn deal just before Christmas.

The two firms announced that they had agreed on the terms of a cash and share offer .

Adam Winslow, chief executive at DLG, said the appointees’ collective input “will be invaluable as we continue our business transformation and supporting our people through a period of change”.

Meanwhile, Yotov brings over 20 years of financial services experience to her new role. She joins from Close Brothers Group, where she served as group general counsel.

And Storm brings experience from her previous roles as group people director at easyJet and chief people officer at Saga.
