’We are pleased to launch our Haul in One product on Acturis, thereby offering a solution to a wider panel of brokers and their clients,’ says deputy chief executive
Direct Commercial has launched its A-rated Haul in One product on eTrading platform Acturis to support brokers facing challenges in securing coverage for single commercial vehicles.
For small fleets of up to five vehicles, Direct Commerical said it would continue to offer instant quotes and coverage for multiple vehicles under a single policy through the bespoke Haul in One online portal.
Joe Hantson, deputy chief executive at Direct Commercial, said: “We are pleased to launch our Haul in One product on Acturis, thereby offering a solution to a wider panel of brokers and their clients.”
Survey
The launch follows the findings from Direct Commercial’s Broker Barometer, which indicated that 60% of brokers handling commercial motor insurance struggle to secure coverage for smaller fleets, especially those with one to five vehicles.

Meanwhile, the data also revealed a strong consensus among brokers on other critical requirements.
For example, 98% of surveyed brokers stressed the importance of insurance providers adopting a broader risk appetite, while 92% said they were increasingly shifting away from non-rated capacity, signalling a change in market preferences.
The Direct Commercial Broker Barometer was commissioned from Context Skythorn, with a total poll size of 127 UK brokers active in the commercial motor markets. The research was conducted between 5 and 16 February 2024 and from 30 April to 22 May 2024.
Hantson, said: “DCL consistently prioritises aligning our offerings with the evolving needs and expectations of commercial motor brokers.
“The data from our DCL Barometer clearly shows that brokers are facing significant challenges in securing cover for small fleets.”
