’Brokers value speed of trading and simplicity of service and we continue to meet that need,’ says head of schemes
Direct Commercial has launched its Haul In One product on Open GI’s cloud-based platform IHP Plus, a statement released yesterday (4 October 2023) said.
Haul In One is an insurance solution for commercial motor risks that offers cover for up to 10 vehicles on a single policy.
Direct Commercial said moving it onto IHP Plus will provide more brokers with access to the product and reduce the need for them to rekey data into multiple systems.
Michael Dickinson, head of schemes at Direct Commercial, said: “Brokers value speed of trading and simplicity of service and we continue to meet that need.
”Part of our ambitious growth plan for Haul In One is to give more brokers access and Open GI has a proven track record that will help us further expand our distribution with the scale and adaptability required.”
’More choice’
Haul In One is the first product Direct Commercial has made available via Open GI.

However, the current portal will also remain open to business from brokers, with them able to get access to a multi-vehicle quote and bind service.
Dickinson said moving the solution over to IHP Plus would give brokers “more choice and help them find a long-term solution to support their clients who require cover for a courier van, truck or transporter”.
Simon Badley, chief executive of Open GI, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Direct Commercial to support the distribution of Haul in One. I have no doubt our partnership will go from strength to strength.
“We look forward to supporting the team moving forward as they utilise IHP Plus to maximise their distribution footprint.
“It is important for us as a technology partner to collaborate with our customers to offer the right solutions, with the increased digital capabilities, functionality and flexibility they need to align with their plans for the future.”
