’The launch of the renewable energy team is a major development,’ says chief executive

Crawford and Company has launched a new renewable energy service.

The facility will provide a range of loss adjusting services to insurers of commercial renewable energy projects, as well as risk advisory services for both insurers and investors.

It comes after Crawford and Company hired a new team from Renewable Energy Loss Adjusters (RELA).

The team will operate the facility on a global basis.

Andrew Bart, chief executive of international operations at Crawford and Company, said: “The launch of the renewable energy team is a major development in Crawford’s commitment to supporting customers operating across the industry as the energy sector switches to more sustainable sources of energy, including wind, solar, geothermal, hydropower and biomass.”

New leadership

The renewable energy team will be led by former RELA chief executive Alan Tucker.

Team members that have joined Tucker include former RELA technical director Martin Dobson, loss adjustor Ceyla Asker and US-based loss adjuster and engineer Donald McNelly.

Tucker said: “Operating as a dedicated renewable energy team within Crawford, a leading global provider of claims management services, offers an incredible platform to ensure we deliver the highest possible client service standards and continue to develop more comprehensive, relevant and responsive solutions to meet the evolving needs of companies across the renewable energy spectrum.”
