’We want our employees to be able to take advantage of the opportunity to travel to a different country,’ says president of UK and Ireland and chief executive of international operations
Crawford and Company has launched a new working abroad policy to assist employees working outside the UK and Ireland on a short-term basis.
Under the new initiative, participants can fulfil their work commitments in another country for up to ten days per financial year.
The firm explained that the policy provides a framework for managing all aspects of the programme and outlines processes to ensure that participants uphold the standards of customer service while abroad.
Andrew Bart, president of UK and Ireland and chief executive of international operations at Crawford, said: “At Crawford, we are always thinking differently about how work gets done in an increasingly digitised world, whilst still meeting the needs of our stakeholders, retaining our collaborative culture and providing excellent service.
“Through our working abroad policy, we want our employees to be able to take advantage of the opportunity to travel to a different country while still fulfilling their day-to-day tasks from there.”
Flexibility
The policy is part of Crawford’s Smarter Working programme, launched in 2021 in the UK and Ireland, which offers employees flexibility in managing their daily responsibilities.

For example, the programme also allows Crawford’s UK employees to choose where they work from and what hours they choose to work.
Bart said: “This introduces yet another level of flexibility into our Smarter Working program which we see as key to creating the best possible working environment for talent.”
