Lloyd’s broker ATL has expanded its leadership team with a joint appointment.
Álvaro Mier has been hired to take on two positions – chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
He will be responsible for leading the growth of the broker’s global operations as it continues to grow.
The commercial insurance broker specialises in the marine and energy sectors.
Iñaki Bandres, chief executive at ATL, said: “His extensive experience in driving growth across the global financial services sector will be invaluable as ATL continues to expand its international presence.”
Experience
Mier has more than 15 years of experience in global financial services.

Previously, he held the positions of chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Austrian renewable energy firm Riddle and Code.
He was also an associate at global investment banking firm Óptima Corporate for just over four years.
Mier said he was “very excited to be joining the ATL team and to be able to support the firm as it continues to grow and evolve”.
“Given my background across financial services, I’m confident that I can bring new insights and knowledge that will help to shape the future success of the company,” he added.
