Executive chairman says the deal falls squarely in Clear Group’s ‘acquisition sweet spot’
Independent broker Clear Group has bought Horsham-based Anderson White Insurance Brokers, marking the firm’s 30th acquisition since it was established in 2001.
The transaction is designed to expand Clear Group’s footprint in the South East – the broker already boasts branches in the City of London, Maidstone and Cranleigh.
Following the acquisition, Clear Group’s Cranleigh staff will relocate to new offices in Horsham, alongside the Anderson White Insurance Brokers team.
Moving forward, Clear Group wishes to grow further in this region, so will be seeking other relevant M&A opportunities.
In the ’sweet spot’
Howard Lickens, executive chairman of Clear Insurance Management, said: “Anderson White is very much in Clear’s acquisition sweet spot.
“It’s a well-run business with several niche capabilities, which are a great fit for Clear. Anderson White will now play an important part in building our presence in the South East.
“We will continue to seek further acquisition opportunities, being very interested in brokers which match our vision and culture.”
Paul Anderson, chief executive of Anderson White Insurance Brokers, added: “We’re delighted to be joining Clear Insurance at such an exciting time in their journey.
“Clear is the perfect home for our business, as it provides greater opportunities for our staff and better access to markets. This means our clients will also benefit from Clear’s wider offering and expertise.”
Since Clear Group received investment from private equity firm ECI Partners in 2018, it has more than doubled in size.
