The ’appointment marks an important moment in our strategy’, says chief executive
Clear Group has appointed ex-RSA boss Mandy Hunt as the new managing director of its managing general agent (MGA) business.
The move will see Hunt, who stepped down as RSA’s chief underwriting officer for commercial in August 2023, join the main Clear operating board.
Her appointment comes after the broker diversified its portfolio in 2023 by acquiring three MGA businesses.
This includes Profile Underwriting, One Commercial Specialty and a 50% shareholding in Thomond Underwriting, which is based in Ireland.
“I’m really excited to lead Clear’s MGA proposition,” Hunt said.
“We have some great MGA businesses and people from which we can strengthen our market position.
“Watching from the sidelines, I have always been impressed at how Clear has progressed, grown and the strides it has made. The staff at Clear make it what it is and I’m delighted to now be part of that team and the exciting future we have in front of us.”
Experience
Back in August 2023, Hunt said she would be leaving RSA to spend time with family before pursuing a “new and exciting challenge”.

“Her appointment marks an important moment in our strategy as we continue to build our MGA capability for brokers.
