’The CII exists to support aspiring professionals to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours that benefit societies and help to build public confidence in the insurance sector globally,’ says executive director

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) recorded a 15% year-on-year rise in completed insurance qualifications in 2024.

According to the association, the most popular qualifications over the past year were the Level 3 Certificate in Insurance, the Level 3 Award in London market Insurance and the Level 4 Diploma in Insurance.

Combined, 6,349 people completed these courses over the past year.

Meanwhile, the CII also noted that the Level 2 Award in Home Insurance saw a 26% annual increase in completions, while the figure stood at 22% for the Level 3 Certificate in Insurance.

Gill White, executive director of member engagement and learning at the CII, said: “The CII exists to support aspiring professionals to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours that benefit societies and help to build public confidence in the insurance sector globally.

“We have seen higher numbers of domestic and international learners, reflecting the value that policymakers and firms place on our learning and assessments around the world.”

Professional Map

White also noted that the CII aims to “motivate even greater numbers of learners in coming years” through its Professional Map.

Introduced in January 2024, the Professional Map is a career development tool designed to define the qualities of a well-rounded insurance and personal finance professional.

”We hope to motivate even greater numbers of learners in coming years by fully embedding the CII’s Professional Map into new qualification pathways and providing an enhanced learning experience that develops the skills our sector needs,” White said.
