The hire will look to expand his drive of ‘deeper engagement’ across the ‘entire broker spectrum’, says division president
Insurer Chubb has promoted Jon Houghton to head of distribution for the UK and Ireland, building on over 10 years spent at the business.
Houghton joined Chubb in 2010 as regional manager of corporate risks in the southern region, before becoming development and distribution manager for the UK and Ireland in 2012.
Most recently, since 2016, he served as Chubb’s distribution manager of national brokers.
In his new role, alongside independent broker partner engagement, he will be responsible for developing and delivering distribution strategy across three of Chubb’s businesses – personal lines, property and casualty, plus accident and health.
Houghton will continue to be based in London and will report to Mark Roberts, division president of the UK, Ireland and South Africa.
Reporting to Houghton is Hannah Hosking, who will continue in her role after leading the independent broker distribution since 2017.
Looking back
Roberts said: “I am delighted to promote Jon to this important role for our business in the UK and Ireland.
“Over the last six years he has been instrumental in driving deeper engagement with our national broker partners and I now look forward to working with him to continue that success with all our relationships across the entire broker spectrum to support the growth of our business through 2022 and beyond.”
Chubb operates in 54 countries and territories, including maintaining executive offices in the likes of Zurich, New York, London and Paris. It currently employs approximately 31,000 people worldwide.
