The MGA’s offices in Gracechurch Street are nearing capacity, creating the need for a dedicated space for the firm’s technology organisation
Specialist cyber insurance provider CFC has today (4 October 2022) launched a dedicated Innovation Hub situated in Leadenhall Market, Whittington Avenue.
The space will be home to CFC’s research and development centre supporting more than 100 technology engineers – it also has the capacity to accommodate the growing team.
To mark the occasion, Dave Walsh, CFC’s founder and group chief executive, cut the ribbon to unveil the new hub to staff.
Jon Fletcher, CFC’s chief technology officer, told Insurance Times: “We are at this point in our journey where we are looking to the next level up – we really want to represent that we are the best technology company in insurance.”
The new office space has been created with innovation and creativity in mind – for example, it includes top of the range technology, collaborate desks and a big screen for group huddles.
There are also spaces for group meetings and wireless phone charging docks on desks as well activities like vintage video games, a life-sized Star Wars storm trooper, a Yoda mural on the wall and a pool table for staff.
Fletcher continued: “The space has been designed to support the collaborative and hybrid working habits in which our engineers and developers thrive, as well as foster the unique culture that CFC is known for.”
Embracing technology
“We have one of the most sophisticated and fastest growing tech teams in insurance, but as our Gracechurch Street headquarter nears capacity, we’ve taken the opportunity to create a space that is dedicated solely to our technology organisation,” he added.

Fletcher highlighted the importance of culture and social cohesion at CFC, especially post-covid and with the advent of hybrid working.
He explained: “We’re an insurance business that has embraced technology from day one, not only to help our underwriters make smarter, faster decisions but critically to help our policyholders prevent claims before they happen.
“Technology underpins everything we do at CFC and I hope that the creation of our dedicated Innovation Hub will help us attract and retain top-tier talent.”
