‘It’s important that we further deepen our relationships with our broking and distribution partners’, says UK chief executive
Global specialty (re)insurer Canopius Group has appointed Matthew Crane as its new head of UK distribution, a statement released yesterday (9 January 2023) said.
In his new role, Crane will be responsible for enhancing the group’s relationships with global brokers, regional distribution partners and strategic clients as the business seeks new growth opportunities.
The position will also see him serve on the Canopius UK executive committee.
UK chief executive Mark Newman said Crane was the “ideal hire” to help the firm grow and bolster relationships.
“To continue the great momentum we are building and to further realise our ambitions in the UK market, it’s important that we further deepen our relationships with our broking and distribution partners,” he said.
“By simplifying access to our syndicate’s capacity and helping our partners understand and value our full product suite and expertise, we can unlock additional new and profitable growth in areas where we have clear strengths.
“[Crane] brings an exceptional track record of spearheading growth and is renowned throughout the UK market for his expertise.”
Experience
The appointee brings nearly two decades of insurance industry experience to the role.
