Chief executive says the acquired business will ‘make an excellent contribution’ to Brown and Brown’s future
Brown and Brown Europe has acquired Oxlea Investments as it looks to expand its presence in the south east.
Kent-based Oxlea Investments, which trades as Stewart and Partners, was established in the 1960s and writes both commercial and personal lines insurance.
The deal will see all members of the team become part of Brown and Brown’s south east retail broker Green Insurance Group.
Green Insurance chief executive Duncan Coleman said the acquired business is the “epitome of a well-run, customer-centric community broker”.
“I’ve been impressed by the team’s dedication to customer service across their portfolio and I’m confident they will make an excellent contribution to Brown and Brown in the future,” he added.
‘Too good to miss’
Shaun Hetherington, who joined Stewart and Partners in 1994, runs the business alongside fellow director Neale Huelin.

Coleman said he was keen to help Hetherington and his team ”expand their customer base in Kent and beyond”.
Hetherington added that the opportunity to become part of Green Insurance and the wider Brown and Brown team ”was too good to miss”.
“There’s no doubt that our customers will benefit from the additional capabilities, products and services we’ll be able to provide as part of Brown and Brown,” he added.
”Duncan and his colleagues are hugely supportive of our exciting future growth plans.”
