’We are delighted to have attracted someone of her calibre, professional expertise and experience,’ says chief executive
Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has appointed Jaya Taylor as its new global leader for group regulatory affairs, risk and compliance.
Taylor, who is a qualified lawyer, will bring over 12 years of experience in governance and compliance to the broker.
She will join from Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty (AGCS), where she currently serves as the global compliance officer.
Prior to this, she was the regional head of legal and compliance for Asia Pacific at the insurer, a role she held for over six years.
Taylor will join SRG once her contractual obligations to her current employer end.
Once part of the broker, she will report to Warren Downey, chief executive at SRG.
Downey said: “We are delighted to have attracted someone of Taylor’s calibre, professional expertise and experience.”

In January 2023, Downey outlined plans to Insurance Times that would see the broker expand its speciality services.

According to Downey, this expansion includes “gathering of talent from a few different places to build a team”, hiring key individuals and pursuing whole business acquisitions.
He also wanted SRG to broaden its global footprint, with him aiming to make the company “more noticeably international”.
Following the broker’s latest appointment, Downey said: “As we embark on our international expansion, having senior executives responsible for key functions with deep and relevant cross-border experience will be key.”
