’This deal is a natural next step,’ says deputy chief executive
Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has continued its acquisition spree with the purchase of Essex-based business One Claim.
The firm, which has expertise in the motor fleet sector, provides broker partners and their clients with claims management support from initial notification through to settlement.
It is the second business SRG has acquired in the space of a week, with it also buying NW Re on 5 November 2024.
This month has also seen SRG announce the purchase of bloodstock and livestock specialist Stonehatch.
The broker said its latest purchase of One Claim would add to its existing motor fleet capabilities across underwriting, wholesale and retail broking.
Kevin Smith, director at One Claim, said: “We are delighted to be joining SRG.
“We are proud of the business that we’ve built and of our team that delivers an outstanding service to our clients.
“In recent years we have seen a significant reduction in the average cost per claim for our clients, delivered by a team of deeply specialist claims professionals. We are excited for the future.”
MGA expansion
As part of the deal, One Claim will sit within SRG’s MGA pillar MX.

Its offering will also sit alongside Capulus’ motor fleet propositions, which SRG acquired in October 2024.
Lee Anderson, group deputy chief executive at SRG, said: “One Claim is a fantastic addition to our growing MGA and this deal is a natural next step following Capulus joining our MX MGA pillar earlier this year.
“The Capulus and One Claim teams perfectly compliment each other and they will continue to work closely together to support their broker partners and their clients.”
