’It is a real privilege to lead such a talented and dedicated team,’ says appointee

Digital broker Simply Business has appointed Julie Fisher as its new UK chief executive.

Fisher had held the role on an interim basis after previous boss Alan Thomas left to become chief executive at Ripe Insurance.

She will now lead the UK business on a permanent basis.

“I feel a huge sense of pride in taking the position as UK chief executive,” Fisher said.

“It is a real privilege to lead such a talented and dedicated team.

“Simply Business is leading the way in making it easier for small businesses and landlords to find and buy their insurance online – putting cutting-edge technology and deep industry expertise at the heart of all our decisions.”

Experience

Fisher, who has 35 years of insurance experience, joined Simply Business in 2019 as its chief commercial officer.

In this role, she helped scale Simply Business’s panel of insurers and oversaw digital innovations designed to simplify and improve customers’ claims experiences.

She will work to continue Simply Business’ growth in her new role, with the firm having managed to hit one million customers in 2024.

David Summers, group chief executive at Simply Business, said: “I’m delighted with Fisher’s appointment at such an exciting point in our journey, as we continue to strengthen our reputation as the one-stop shop for SME insurance.

“Fisher’s leadership will be invaluable as we deliver on our commitment to offer the broadest range of choice in this market and deliver products known for their value – all with a level of simplicity, ease and speed.

“With over one million customers, Simply Business – with our unique technology platform, outstanding distribution capabilities and award-winning culture – has never been stronger.”
