’We are confident that we can take more significant steps during 2024,’ says chief executive
Broadway Insurance Brokers has revealed that its secured £7.5m of gross written premium (GWP) in the last 12 months.
In a statement released today (19 December 2023), the business said it came after the value of its corporate and private assets soared to more than £2bn.
As part of the broker’s growth this year, it has also expanded its senior ranks and seen the impact of a “substantial” six-figure investment in systems and operational technology.
“At the start of 2023, we intended to reinforce our position as one of the leading brokers for high net worth (HNW) private clients and entrepreneurs in the north of England,” Daniel Lloyd-John, chief executive of Broadway, said.
“I’m delighted to say that we have exceeded those ambitions. We have also succeeded in recruiting some immensely talented staff who have made us even more capable than we were before.”
2024
Lloyd-John helped form Broadway in 2020, with the firm aiming to provide HNW private clients and businesses with a concierge-style risk management service rather than focusing on policy renewals.

Such an approach has produced an increase in client numbers, with there also being a rise in the number of larger corporate and international companies turning over more than £250m, which Broadway now advises.
And over 2023, the firm has attracted a greater share of businesses in the manufacturing, healthcare, IT, engineering and property industries.
Lloyd-John said that developments throughout the year had left the firm “well prepared” for further strategic progress in 2024.
“We are confident that we can take more significant steps during 2024, while not losing sight of the excellence and professionalism which has won the trust of clients and peers so far,” he added.
”We have won an increasing proportion of work from much larger and longer-established rivals and now are genuinely regarded as a credible alternative to the very biggest brokers in the land.
“Being able to say that only a few years after launching is a tribute to the hard work and ingenuity shown by everyone within the business.”
