The firm hopes the new data-driven role will enable the business to create better outcomes for its trading partners and clients
Brit has appointed Kanika Chaganty as its new chief data officer.
Chaganty was previously chief data officer at Vitality UK Group for almost 10 years.
Chaganty has held roles with data consulting companies Business and Decision (now Sopra Steria) in the UK, AI Tayer Group in Dubai, Radiologix Inc in the USA, as well as the Oracle and Citicorp groups in India.
She will now lead Brit’s data strategy, with a key focus on a digital ambition to improve underwriting and claim services.
Chaganty will report to chief technology officer Bilge Mert, who also joined this year.
‘Data-led vision’
Group head of claims and operations Sheel Sawhney said: “Data is at the core of our business, and when applied strategically, technology and data will empower Brit to deliver long-term value for our business.
“Welcoming Kanika in a newly created chief data officer role will enable us to fully leverage the latest data tools and capabilities to drive better outcomes for clients, trading partners and the sector at large.”
Chaganty said: “Brit is one of the most innovative players in the London market championing a data-led vision.
“I’m excited to be joining at such a pivotal moment for Brit and look forward to working closely with Bilge and the team to capitalise on the opportunities and business value that data led solutions can deliver.”
