Trudgill has been involved with the not-for-profit organisation since its inception
Graeme Trudgill, executive director at broker membership organisation Biba, has joined the board of the Employers’ Liability Tracing Office (ELTO), a not-for-profit company.
ELTO helps individuals who have suffered injury or disease in the workplace to identify their organisation’s employers’ liability insurer using an online enquiry facility; this enables staff members to pursue compensation direction with the relevant insurer.
ELTO members are firms with employers’ liability policy liabilities for UK employers, including both active and run-off insurers; the membership represents around 99% of the current employers’ liability market.
To date, the ELTO database contains more than 25 million policy records and receives 100,000 enquiries a year from members of the public and solicitors representing claimants.
Strengthening the link
Speaking about his appointment, Trudgill said: “ELTO provides a vital service to members of the public when they need help the most.
“Having been involved in ELTO from its inception, sitting on its first advisory board on time to supply and helping to develop a guide for brokers, I am delighted to be joining the board.
“I am keen to further strengthen the link between ELTO and the broking community and to ensure we continue to deliver a service which helps claimants trace their insurer seamlessly.”
Steve Browne, chairman at ELTO, added: “Graeme brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the ELTO board. With significant upgrades in the pipeline for ELTO, it is imperative that the board continues to strive to improve the capability of ELTO for the benefit of all users of the service.”
