’We look forward to going forward with one brand, making life easier for us and life easier for our brokers,’ says managing director

Brokers have “rammed” Allianz’s stand at the 2024 Biba Conference following the insurer’s decision to rebrand its personal lines broking business.

That was according to Nicola George, who said that brokers have been “really supportive” of the change and that the insurer had received positive feedback.

On 1 May 2024, the insurer rebranded LV=Broker to Allianz in a move it said was a “key step in growing the Allianz brand across the personal lines market”.

Ahead of this, the firm announced George as the new managing director of the arm, with predecessor Mike Crane leaving the business.

Speaking to Insurance Times at the Biba Conference, George felt the rebrand was a “natural move” and that it makes things “much easier” for brokers.

“They have been really supportive,” she said.

“The stand was rammed yesterday (15 May 2024) as was our evening event last night, so it was great to meet so many of them there.

“[We’ve had] really positive feedback.”

She added that “people were probably expecting it to happen sooner than it has”.

“We look forward to going forward with one brand, making life easier for us and life easier for our brokers.”

‘Excited’

In her new role, George will lead the strategic growth of the business.

Speaking about settling into the new position, she said: “[I’m] really excited abut continuing the engagement [with brokers], bringing the distribution teams to the forefront of our offering and bringing that technical side to the business as well.”
