’My aspiration with this book is to lay a strong foundation for a deeper understanding of insurtech,’ says chief executive
Tapoly chief executive Janthana Kaenprakhamroy has said it is a “dream come true” to be publishing a book about the insurtech landscape.
Entitled Navigating Insurtech: Challenge and opportunities in digital insurance, the book aims to provide professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the industry and its key players, components, challenges and opportunities.
Kaenprakhamroy said the book came about after setting herself a goal to write one a couple of years ago.
She explained that she started learning English when she was just 19 and never thought she would be able “to master a language as quickly” as she has, let alone write a book.
It is currently available to pre-order on Amazon before being officially released in May 2024.
60 Seconds with Janthana Kaenprakhamroy
The idea for the book stemmed from Kaeprakhamroy’s experiences as a founder of insurtech Tapoly.
She told Insurance Times: “I realised that explaining our unique value proposition as a tech and regulated entity in simple terms was challenging, both during conversations with stakeholders and in panel discussions.
“I found myself in search of tool or reference point that could effectively explain our business concept, offering practical use cases and real-life applications to make it more understandable.”
However, to her surprise, she could not find a resource in the market.
Therefore, the need to “bridge the gap” led to the creation of her book.
She added: “My aspiration with this book is to lay a strong foundation for a deeper understanding of insurtech, enabling more individuals to leverage their knowledge in this field effectively.
”The book aims to provide the kind of resource I wish I had when I embarked on my journey in the insurtech industry.”
For Kaenprakhamroy, who is personally “very enthusiastic about the insurtech industry,” the sector is a field that is “still in need of significant technological advancement”.
She continued: ”Writing has become a powerful avenue for me to enhance my self-expression and reawaken words that may have been suppressed or forgotten.”
Valuable resource
Kaenprakhamroy added that what made this book special was that it is a “unique blend” of practical insights and real-life applications in the insurtech sector.
This includes theory, tangible examples and use cases.
“It’s a valuable resource for both newcomers looking to understand insurtech and industry professionals seeking to stay at the forefront of innovation,” she said.
“The book is aimed at a diverse audience. It’s designed to cater to newcomers who want to gain a fundamental understanding of insurtech, offering them a solid foundation to build upon.
“In essence, it’s a resource that can benefit anyone interested in the insurtech industry, from beginners to seasoned experts.”
