’This accolade is a reminder of the impact that committed individuals can have,’ says chief executive
Back in March 2024, Janthana Kaenprakhamroy, chief executive and founder of Tapoly, was named in Innovate Finance’s Women in Fintech Powerlist.
The list celebrates more than 250 women making an impact across the financial services sector.
Categories included senior leaders, rising starts, technology professionals and industry and knowledge champions.
Kaenprakhamroy was included in the senior leader’s category, while she was also mentioned in the standout 45 – this is a selection of women who Innovate Finance said were “making an incredible lasting impact in fintech, over and above their day-to-day role”.
Kaenprakhamroy told Insurance Times that being listed was a “profound honour” and encouraged her to keep “challenging norms, driving change and leveraging technology” to better serve the insurtech community.

Kaenprakhamroy also felt that being listed ”highlights the critical role of diversity and inclusion in driving the sector forward”.
She told Insurance Times: “This accolade is a reminder of the impact that committed individuals can have in creating more accessible and equitable financial services.
”It underscores the importance of female leadership in fintech and insurtech, showcasing the indispensable contributions we make towards innovation, community and ecosystem building.
“Historically, these fields have been male dominated, especially at the leadership level.”
Future opportunities
Kaenprakhamroy noted that challenges women have faced in the insurance industry include underrepresentation in leadership, persistent gender pay gaps and uneven access to opportunities.
However, she said that as the industry evolves, there has been ”a gradual shift, with more women stepping into key roles, driving innovation and influencing the future direction of our industries”.
“The digital transformation within insurance is opening new doors for innovation and entrepreneurship,” she added.
”Women are increasingly leveraging these shifts to launch insurtech startups, introduce innovative solutions and cater to underserved markets, showcasing the unique value of diverse perspectives in developing inclusive products and services.
”My objective is to showcase the significance of resilience, innovation and inclusivity in leadership.
”Facing the challenges head-on and capitalising on the opportunities within the insurtech industry, I want to prove that diversity is not merely a target, but a core component of success and innovation in this field.”
