’His extensive underwriting and leadership experience within Axis and the Lloyd’s market equip him very well,’ says head of global markets
John Owen has been appointed as the new chief executive of Axis Managing Agency (AMA), a statement released yesterday (9 November 2023) said.
AMA is part of Axis Capital and oversees the group’s Lloyd’s of London operation, including that of Syndicate 1686.
In his new role, Owen will report to head of global markets Mark Gregory.
“John’s extensive underwriting and leadership experience within Axis and the Lloyd’s market equip him very well for the management and regulatory responsibilities of his new position as chief executive of Axis Managing Agency,” Gregory said.
Experience
Owen joined Axis in 2017 as its head of marine and political risks from Novae, where he held several roles over 18 years.
