The new hire previously worked at Zurich in Ireland
AXA XL has appointed Anish Jadav as chief underwriting officer (CUO) for retail, property and casualty (P&C), UK and the Lloyd’s market.
Jadav joins from Zurich Insurance Ireland, where he held the position of CUO since 2018.
Previously, Jadav was CUO for Zurich’s Asian hub for commercial insurance in Singapore; he has also held several other senior underwriting and actuarial roles at Zurich, including for its business in the UK.
In his new role, Jadav will be responsible for developing and executing the insurance company’s retail P&C underwriting strategy, as well as optimising its product offering and profitability. He will also lead a team of underwriters in London.
Jadav’s role is effective from July and he will report to Luis Prato, chief underwriting officer, UK and Lloyd’s market.

Prato said: “Today, global businesses are faced with an increasingly complex international trading environment and having the right insurance partner has never been so important.
“I’m delighted that Anish will be joining the retail P&C team at AXA XL. As we continue to bring our value proposition to life, his extensive underwriting and management experience will be a tremendous asset in supporting clients to manage the risks they face today and in the future.”
