The restructure has been brought about by confirmation of new chief operating officer Shali Vasudeva’s areas of responsibility
The senior management of AXA UK & Ireland has undergone a reshuffle.
The move follows the announcement of Shali Vasudeva as the group’s new chief operating officer. Her responsibilities have now been revealed, resulting in management moves.
Vasudeva will be responsible for IT, customer insight, digital, procurement and property and leading the transformation office and simplification programme.
Strategy, brand and communications functions, along with customer proposition and innovation, will subsequently become part of the chief executive Claudio Gienal’s office. Amber Wilkinson, currently finance director at AXA PPP healthcare, has been appointed as chief of staff to Gienal and will head up these areas.
She will be responsible for leading the ‘Beyond 2020’ strategy as well as for the reputation of the AXA Brand in UK and Ireland, effective from 1 April 2019.

As part of this realignment Darrell Sansom, currently chief customer and innovation officer, will move to a new role working with Phil Bradley, chief executive of AXA Ireland, on supporting plans to diversify the Irish business.
Gienal said: “These changes at a senior level are designed to reflect our desire to focus firmly on our customer experience and simplify decision making.
“I am confident that the new structure and governance will allow us to deliver against the priorities we have set.”
Vasudeva has been charged by AXA with delivering more robust operational stability across the business and working with the operating companies to remove complexity for customers and members.
