Malik has left his role after three years with the business
Aviva has announced that its UK and Ireland chief claims officer Waseem Malik has left the insurer.
Malik will be succeeded by Steve Bridger, who will take on his new role with immediate effect.
Malik joined Aviva in March 2022 and has held the position of chief claims officer for the last three years.
Before Aviva, he spent 15 years at Axa, most recently as executive managing director for claims. His next career move has not been announced.
Successor
Meanwhile, successor Bridger takes on his new role following 22 years with Aviva, having held senior roles across the protection business and numerous other senior customer positions.

He was most recently managing director for health, a role he has held for the last five years.
With him moving to a new role, he will be succeeded by Matt McGill.
McGill’s career includes senior roles in IT, wealth and retirement, having led Aviva’s Workplace Savings business and, most recently, the Equity Release arm.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
