The newly launched group is looking to serve as the voice of the insurtechs in the UK
Insurtech UK has expanded by adding Aviva and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to its alliance.
They join the 50+ strong membership of insurtech startups, as well as other associate members and partners of its alliance.
Its second wave of associate members and partners was announced today and includes:
- Associate Members: CII, Aviva
- Technology partner: Thoughtworks UK
- Claims Service Partner: Broker Direct PLC
- Legal partners: Browne Jacobson
- Accounting Partner: PKF Littlejohn
- Recruitment partner: Wells Tobias Group
- Media Partner: Hotwire Public Relations Ltd
The news follows Insurtech UK announcing last month in a breakfast briefing that it was keen to work with the insurance industry.
Niall Barton, chair of Insurtech UK, said: “It has been really encouraging to see so many businesses out there who share our ambition to radically improve the insurance experience for consumers and to permanently change the reputation of the insurance industry.
“I am confident that with the help of these new additions to our alliance, this goal is far more achievable than it was when we started in November 2018. I can’t wait to get started on working with them all.”
Mission
Insurtech UK has an objective to help transform the insurance market through the use of technology, create a more customer-focused industry and make the process of connecting insurtechs with partners in the industry more easy. The latter being an issue that Biba highlighted in its manifesto in January launching an insurtech dating agency to navigate this.
Other initiatives for Insurtech UK include building links with the Lord Mayor of London’s office, as well as securing founding member Yulife to join its trade delegation to the USA, which it hopes will foster further member opportunities.
