’I’m very excited to be taking up the reins of such a successful operation,’ says new appointee
Claims management firm Auxillis has appointed Mel Bebbington as its new managing director to help bolster its growth plans.
Bebbington will succeed Susan Howe, who will retire later this year.
Auxillis said the appointment was “critical” for the continuity of the business and capitalising on future opportunities.
Harvey Stead, chief operating officer of Redde Northgate, oversaw the appointment. He said: ”The priority was to find someone who not only had broad experience of the insurance market and a detailed understanding of the credit hire and repair sector, but also the skills and vision to lead the business in this new chapter.
“To ensure a smooth transition from the experienced hands of current managing director Susan Howe, it was vital that we took time to make the right appointment and put in place a comprehensive shadowing and handover period – and crucially for Mel to meet our key partners.”
Experience
Bebbington has worked in the claims space for most of her career and has held senior roles across a range of companies.

This includes claims operations director of Somerset Bridge Group and head of claims operations at Eldon Insurance Services.
She was most recently a non-executive director for Southern Rock Insurance Company.
Speaking about her new role, Bebbington said: “Seeing just how much Auxillis has developed using technology has been remarkable.
”But it’s the hardworking colleagues delivering a full range of high quality services to motorists that’s most impressed me. I’m very excited to be taking up the reins of such a successful operation and look forward to leading the team”.
