’I’m very fortunate to work with a team of dedicated professionals to drive business growth and enhance the value we offer to brokers and clients,’ says appointee
Australian insurance broker Aub Group has announced that Bob Pybus and Tom Wilson will be taking up new chief executive roles.
Pybus will become top boss for UK retail, while Wilson has been named as the new leader at Tysers, Aub Group’s Lloyd’s wholesale broker.
The appointments are effective from 1 October 2024.
From this date, Mike Emmett, chief executive and managing director at Aub Group, will cease to act as the interim boss at Tysers.
He took up the role in August 2023, when Clive Buesnel announced that he was stepping down.
Emmett said: “Wilson and Pybus have played significant roles in Tysers’ success story and are uniquely placed to steer the Tysers and UK retail businesses through their next stages of growth.
“They have deep market knowledge, a commitment to superior client service and are proven, strategic leaders.”
Experience
Pybus, who was most recently head of Tysers Retail, has 40 years of industry experience and specialises in developing and managing risks for clients across the retail sector.

“I’m very fortunate to work with a team of dedicated professionals to drive business growth and enhance the value we offer to brokers and clients.”
Meanwhile, Wilson, who was most recently head of Tysers Marine and Aviation, has spent most his career in senior management and strategic roles.
In his new role, he will work with his senior management team to drive growth in London and internationally.
Wilson said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead Tysers and, with the support of an exceptionally talented senior management team, seize opportunities for growth and meet the increasing demand for specialist insurance expertise and technical skills in the London and international markets.”
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
