The business turned down ‘various opportunities’ before choosing the ‘right’ broker
Aston Lark Ireland has acquired Deanspoint Insurance Brokers, which trades as Abbey Murphy Insurance.
Established in 1983 and based in Longford Mullingar, Abbey Murphy Insurance is a supplier of both personal and commercial lines.
Mike Winters, Celine Gill and Michael Gardiner lead the team of 14 employees.
Aston Lark Ireland chief executive Robert Kennedy said the company is “very pleased” to announce the deal with the broker and welcomes the opportunity to work closely with the newly acquired management team.
He continued: “This is our second acquisition in the Midlands to go with our Portlaoise office and we see the broadening of our geographical footprint as being key to our future success.
“There’s lots of synergy in the cultures of Abbey Murphy Insurance and Aston Lark Ireland. [It has] built a fantastic business based on client first principles, delivering a high level of customer service and focusing on building long-lasting relationships, which aligns with our values.
“We couldn’t be prouder that they have chosen Aston Lark Ireland as their home.”
Declined opportunities
Echoing Kennedy’s sentiments, Aston Lark Group chief executive Peter Blanc said: “Rob Kennedy and the team will make the Abbey Murphy team feel at home in no time and I’m looking forward to seeing how they grow over the coming years.”
Winters added: “The world of insurance is constantly evolving and, to this end, we had to decide on our next move forward so that we could continue to provide our clients with the highest quality service possible.
“Various opportunities presented themselves, but none were quite right until we met with Robert Kennedy from Aston Lark.
“We now look forward to our clients and staff enjoying the benefits of being part of a much larger company and I wish to assure them of our continued commitment to them for the foreseeable future.”
