’It will be sad to see the Lark bird fly away for the last time, but very exciting to be finally rebranding,’ says head of M&A
Broker Aston Lark has revealed that it will be rebrand as Howden next month.
Howden snapped up Aston Lark from Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Bowmark Capital in October 2021, with the acquisition being one of its largest to date.
Earlier this year (13 July 2023), a Howden spokesperson confirmed to Insurance Times that Aston Lark would rebrand under the Howden name as part of a management restructure.
And in a LinkedIn post yesterday (25 September 2023), Aston Lark said it would begin trading using its parent company’s name from 2 October 2023.
“This time next week, Howden will be the new name for Aston Lark,” the broker said.
“We can’t wait to show you our very bold and exciting new look. Watch this space.”
‘Very exciting’
Following Howden’s purchase of Aston Lark, group chief executive Peter Blanc felt the combined business had earned the label of being the ”best broker” in the market.

And since the deal, Aston Lark has made several acquisitions to grow both in the UK and Ireland.
For example, last month (August), the firm snapped up Plymouth-based insurance broker Curtis Marine and Kegra Limited in two separate deals.
After it was announced that Aston Lark would rebrand, Blanc, who also took up the role of head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) at Howden earlier this year (24 April 2023), said the rebrand was “sad” but “exciting” at the same time.
“Will be sad to see the Lark bird fly away for the last time, but very exciting to be finally rebranding as part of Howden Group Holdings – one of the largest privately owned independent insurance brokers in the world,” he added.
