The deal aims to expand the broker’s footprint in the midlands
Goldman Sachs-backed broker Aston Lark has added to its acquisition total by purchasing Kidderminster-based business Plester Group.
Established in 1964, Plester Group operates within both the commercial and personal lines markets, specialising in providing cover around contracting and motor trade.
The firm has 19 staff members, who are led by managing director Justin Griffiths.
Speaking on the deal, Aston Lark’s group chief executive Peter Blanc said: “We’re delighted to welcome Justin and his team to Aston Lark, further strengthening our presence in the midlands.
“From my early discussions with Justin, it was clear that there is an excellent cultural fit between our businesses, and I have great confidence that Aston Lark will prove to be a great home for all of the Plester team and their clients.”
Griffiths added: “We are very excited to be joining the Aston Lark Group, as we believe [its] ethos of providing excellent customer service mirrors our own.
“Our specialist offerings, which include contracting and motor trade, are aligned and we believe that, with the additional resources of the Aston Lark Group, there will be great benefit to our existing clients and huge potential for continued growth, whilst still maintaining the personal service on which we have built the business to this point.”
Aston Lark employs 1,500 staff across more than 50 offices in UK and Ireland. It has 200,000 customers and manages £900m of gross written premium.
