His appointment comes during a period of growth for Ardonagh Specialty
Ardonagh Specialty has appointed Dan Walsh as its new chief underwriting officer.

He joins from Aon, where he served as chief underwriting officer at Aon Underwriting Managers – the broker’s in-house MGA – for the last seven years.
His career has also seen him serve as the deputy underwriter at ACE global markets, as well as the assistant underwriter for bloodstock and aviation at Generali.

PSC, which was acquired by the broker in October 2024, provides insurance services from the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Its UK arm is being merged into Ardonagh Specialty and Ardonagh Advisory, with PSC brands Paragon and Carrolls also being integrated to help bolster wholesale and retail broking.
Ardonagh Specialty chief executive Andrew Wallin said: “Our standing as the leading independent broker in the London market is further strengthened today as we formally welcome Paragon and Carrolls teams across PSC’s specialty businesses into the fold.
“We look forward to supporting their continued growth as they harness the scale, expertise and connections of our global broking collective.”
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
