The ‘expertise’ of the new AR will expand the broker’s capabilities in the sector
Yorkshire-based broker McClarrons has moved into the marine market with the appointment of specialist broker Soak Insure as an appointed representative (AR).
A statement from the firm said the new addition would deliver the ability to offer a broader product range to the clients of both companies.
McClarrons already operates in a number of niche sectors, including high net worth, commercial, care and social welfare and rural insurance.
As part of the move, Soak Insure will gain access to the additional resources and systems of McLarrons, broadening its capability in a niche market.
McClarrons, on the other hand, said it would benefit from an expansion in the marine market, which complement its art and private client brand McClarrons Affinity.
Major step
Soak Insure founder Simon Tonks commented: “This is a major step forward for Soak as it affords continued success for the business since our launch in 2021.

“Customers’ expectations from the insurance market continue to develop and this partnership allows us to respond to these demands and continue to provide customers with the service and technical expertise needed.”
McClarrons managing director Garry Davies added: “The expertise and specialist knowledge of Soak Insure will greatly enhance our ability to serve our own clients who are involved in the marine world and we are confident that this partnership will bring significant benefits to both our clients and Soak Insure’s future.”
