Reid French steps down as chief executive of Applied Systems after eight years in the role, but will remain on the board of directors
Applied Systems has named Taylor Rhodes as its new chief executive.
Former chief executive of eight years Reid French will step down from the role but remain on the board of directors to advise the company.
Rhodes was previously chief executive of SMS Assist – a cloud-based software platform for multi-site property management. He has over two decades worth of experience in technology and technology enabled services leadership experience.
Prior to this he was chief executive and president of Rackspace – an American cloud computing company where he helped grow the firm’s revenue to two billion dollars.
Rhodes said that he is excited to be joining the firm during this period of digital transformation in the insurance industry.
He added: “I look forward to working with Applied’s outstanding executive team and talented employee base to extend and accelerate the company’s product leadership.”
French “proud”
French said that he was honoured to have led the firm through this period of dynamic growth over the past eight years. “However, I am most proud of Applied’s people, and all that we have accomplished together on behalf of our customers. We have transformed the way brokers, insurers, and customers do business in the cloud. Team Applied has never been better positioned for continued success,” he added.
Sameer Narang, chairman of Applied and partner at Hellman & Friedman welcomed Rhodes.
“His proven leadership ability, customer-centric approach, and strong technology background will help Applied expand upon its tradition of delivering market-leading, cloud-based solutions for the benefit of its growing customer base,” Narang said of the incoming chief executive.
“Reid’s outstanding leadership and strategic vision have driven tremendous innovation at Applied. The company has more than doubled in size during his tenure as chief executive and its growth prospects have never been brighter as he hands the baton to Taylor.
“We are grateful for all of Reid’s many contributions and look forward to his continued service on the board of directors.”
