’This new role demonstrates our commitment to investing in talent,’ says UK head of commercial risk solutions
Aon has appointed Graeme MacMillan as its new chief broking officer for commercial risk solutions in the UK, a statement released today (2 August 2023) said.
The role will see MacMillan, who will join the professional services firm later this year (1 November 2023), help strengthen insurer relationships to develop differentiated propositions and products for clients.
He will also be responsible for the UK commercial risk broking strategy.
Aon said creating the role and appointing MacMillan was a “sign of further investment in a strong broking team”.
Jane Kielty, head of commercial risk solutions in the UK, added: “This new role demonstrates our commitment to investing in talent that meets the evolving needs of our clients through strategies that build on creativity as we help shape better decisions.”
Experience
MacMillan will bring over 20 years of broking leadership experience to the role, having held senior market positions at several insurance firms.

This includes director of international brokers at Aviva and UK placement strategy director at Marsh.
He will join Aon from The Ardonagh Group, where he is chief executive of distribution and portfolio solutions.
As part of his new role at Aon, he will ensure the UK broking strategy works in tandem with the firm’s global broking centre.
This will be done through joint reporting lines to Kielty and James Baum, head of wholesale and specialty broking.
“Graeme has a phenomenal track record of leading the creation and execution of innovative and differentiated broking strategies that are bold and ambitious for the benefit of clients,” Kielty added.
“It’s great news that both Aon and our clients will soon be benefitting from his experience and skills to help navigate emerging forms of volatility.”
