Aon has appointed Erlantz Urbieta as its new chief broking officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In his new role, Urbieta will be in charge of advancing Aon’s broking strategy across EMEA.
He succeeds Terence Williams, who will assume the role of head of commercial risk in Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Cynthia Beveridge, global chief broking officer at Aon, said: “We thank Williams for his outstanding contributions in creating a strong broking community across EMEA and successfully executing Aon’s global broking strategy.
“Urbieta will build on this foundation, further enhancing our regional presence and reinforcing Aon’s ability to provide best-in-class solutions for clients.”
Experience
Urbieta has spent more than 25 years at Aon and was most recently head of commercial risk in Spain.

The role has seen him shape the Spanish commercial risk business, with him leading broking, carrier management, specialties, risk consulting and claims in the country.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
